FAQs

The treatment typically takes between 2.5 – 4 hours, depending on hair length and thickness.  We also have an express product but it’s only suitable for natural, uncoloured hair. This can be done in 2 hours or less.

Absolutely not. The ironing in of the product happens AFTER the product is rinsed from the hair so it doesn’t steam.

Most definitely – the treatment can be used on all hair textures, coloured and highlighted hair. Some hair may get straighter results than others and last longer as some hair types are just more resistant to relaxers.

Colour is safe to do 2 weeks either side of the service. As the treatment may strip artificial colour from your hair, we suggest in timing your treatment visit close to when you are next due for colour, however we do do everything possible to minimise this with great success.  For lightening/foil clients, we would ideally lighten your hair 6 weeks before or 6 weeks after your Nanoplasty service.

Nanoplasty lasts 5 – 7 months on the hair. Everyone’s hair is different, with some hair types more resistant than others and some more receptive than others.

No – once the treatment is complete in salon, it is safe to wash your hair, tie it up or exercise as soon as you want.
If you are swimming in salt or chlorinated, we suggest in waiting a few days before doing so after having the treatment as it may reduce the long term effects of the service. But after that, you can swim every day!

It is strongly recommended to use the products recommended  by your stylist, however, you can use PROFESSIONAL Sulphate-Free home care products for long-lasting results. Do not use “sulfate free” products from supermarkets or chemists as they contain other ingredients that may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

Because the molecules are 750 times smaller than keratin, they sit deeper IN the hair and not on the surface of the hair like they do with Keratin.

Absolutely you can still curl your hair. In fact it should work better as the frizz is tamed so you can focus on simply curling and styling and not containing your frizz.

We evaluate your hair type and discuss your desired results. We’ll also provide a detailed quote so you know exactly what to expect. You should arrive with clean dry hair, shampooed 48 hours earlier.

The treatment is applied evenly and left to penetrate the hair cuticle..

Heat Activation

Gentle heat seals in the treatment, enhancing smoothness and longevity.

Rinse, Blow-Dry and Iron

Excess product is rinsed, followed by a professional blow-dry and ironing the hair into its new shape to reveal sleek, smooth results.

Rinsing & Moisture Mask

The hair is rinsed, shampooing out the remaining product, and a moisture mask is applied and the scalp is massaged. Your hair is now ready to be dried into its new shape.

  • Use Sulfate-Free Shampoo & Conditioner – Harsh detergents in regular shampoos can strip away the treatment, so opt for gentle, sulfate-free formulas to maintain smoothness and shine.
  • Hydrate Regularly – Deep-conditioning treatments once a week help nourish your hair and prevent dryness, ensuring long-lasting softness and vitality.
  • Minimise Heat Damage – While nanoplasty reduces frizz, excessive heat styling can still weaken your hair. Always use a heat protectant and keep hot tools at a moderate temperature.
  • Avoid Salt & Chlorine Exposure – Saltwater and chlorine can affect the treatment’s durability. Rinse your hair immediately after swimming and use protective sprays when needed.
  • Reduce Washing Frequency – Washing your hair too often can cause the treatment to fade faster. Aim for 2-3 washes per week using lukewarm water.
  • Schedule a Touch-Up – Depending on hair type and lifestyle, a refresh treatment every 5 – 7 months will help maintain your sleek, frizz-free results.

Booking Fee

When you book your appointment with us, we kindly ask for a $50 booking fee, which is securely stored in your file. This fee helps us reserve your spot and ensures everything runs smoothly, allowing us to give you the personalised care and attention you deserve. It also helps reduce no-shows, allowing us to offer appointments to other clients eagerly waiting. On the day of your appointment, you can choose to either:

  • Apply the fee toward your next visit
  • Deduct it from the total cost of your service

Cancellation Policy

We completely understand that life happens and sometimes plans change. However, we do ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel your appointment. Please note that the booking fee is non-refundable if this notice isn’t provided. If you need to reschedule, just give the salon a call—our team will help sort everything out and make sure your booking fee is handled appropriately. Don’t worry, all refunds are provided as required under Australian Consumer Law, so you can have peace of mind.
